The long-awaited reveal of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s new daughter’s name spawned mixed reactions — and a lot of jokes — on social media.
Some Twitter users were quick to embrace the famous couple’s choice to name their third child Chicago, a clear reference to West’s home town. Among them was Kardashian’s sister, Khloe, who wrote, “I LOOOOOOOOOOVE her name.”
Other users weighed in with praise such as “I like it….. It makes me think of Kanye” and “this is soooo cute !”
Many, however, weren’t as big of fans.
“North, Saint and No,” tweeted one user, referring to Kardashian and West’s other two children.
Another contended, “why not the wild west? you had (the) chance smh.”
Several Chicago sports teams also reacted to the news, including the White Sox, who shared a photo of their name using the same font Kardashian employed to announce the name.
Naturally, plenty of people contributed to the conversation with jokes and gifs.
Kardashian, 37, and West, 40, welcomed the new babyMonday through a surrogate. Doctors had warned Kardashian it was too risky for her to carry a third child after experiencing complications with her first two pregnancies.
Kardashian suggested in a tweet that the baby’s nickname is Chi, which is pronounced as “Shy.”
